The floor insulation was installed today. The insulation is placed between the floor joists and will insulate the floors of the house. The insulation will not only keep heat inside of the house, but it will also keep cold out. It's a simple job for a straightforward building like ours and they sure made quick work out of it.
With the insulation comes the first "covering" of the floor joists that in turn encapsulates the crawl space below.
So what does the floor insulation really look like, and how is it being held in place?
While unfortunately, I was unable to take some pictures during actual installation, before the actual insulation was placed between the joists, a yellow netting was stapled to hold the insulation batting in place.
The framers will be back tomorrow to start laying down the plywood sheathing.
